V-Day with PINK!

There’s nothing more similar to PINK than Valentine’s Day! With this holiday quickly approaching there’s no present better than something PINK for your sister, mom, friends or YOURSELF!

A BRALETTE or MINI CHEEKSTER is the perfect gift. Check out these easy PINK inspired DIY presents to go along with your PINK Valentine’s Day presents.

PINK-tine Card

What you need:

  • Construction paper
  • Sponge
  • Gel Pen or Marker (I used a white gel pen found at Michael’s, Hobby Lobby, etc)
  • Acrylic Paint
  • Scissors

How to make:

  1. Fold your piece of construction paper in half and cut it to the length you want it.
  2. Take a new sponge and outline a pattern. I made an outline of a bralette. Cut out the pattern.
  3. Figure out what you want your card to say. Idea: Bralettes be Valentines! OR Will you be my PINK valentine? Write your message on the folded construction paper. Make sure to leave room for the sponge stamp!
  4. Dip your stamp into the acrylic paint and carefully stamp it where you want on your card.
  5. Add any other decorations to your card and sign a cute message on the inside!

  • One or more glass cups (depending how many you want to make)
  • Glass paint marker (Craft stores have them $2)
  • Oven 375 degrees

How to make:

  1. Grab your cup and markers. The marker will need to be shaken and press the tip to make the ink come out
  2. When the ink is ready, begin decorating your glass with your markers.
  3. When your masterpiece is done, let dry for four hours.
  4. After ink has dried, heat oven to 375 and put your glasses in BEFORE oven is preheated. Glasses need to be in oven for 40 minutes.
  5. When the timer is done…WAH LAH your glasses are ready to come out! Be careful glasses will be hot!

Sweetheart Cookies

What you need

  • Sugar cookie dough (premade or homemade)
  • Food coloring
  • HEART cookie cutter
  • Icing to write on cookies
  • Cookie Sheet
  • Flour
  • Oven
  • Rolling pin

How to make:

  1. Preheat oven to 350. On a clean surface, sprinkle flour on surface so cookie dough will not stick. Drip a few drops of food coloring on the dough and begin kneading to mix the color into the dough
  2. When your dough is color you want it to be, take your rolling pin and roll dough flat. Grab your heart cookie cutter and cut out your cookies. Place them on your cookie sheet.
  3. After your hearts are all cut out and oven is preheated, cook cookies for 10-12 minutes.
  4. Let Cool.
  5. Using your icing write a PINK message on your cookies!

DIY- Knotted No Crimp Hair Ties!

knotted hair tie

Quick! You’ve already got the perfect comfy cute outfit of your favorite PINK yoga pants and raglan, now, what to do with the hair?!

Look no further! Keep away from the pricey boutiques and make your own Knotted No Crimp Hair Ties to match all your favorite Victoria Secret PINK looks!

What You Need:

– Fold over elastic ( Michael’s, Hobby Lobby, Online)

– Ruler

– Scissors

– Glue OR far away lighter

knotted hair tie 2

What To Do:

1. First, measure off 8.5 inches of elastic. ( Depending on how you want to wear your hair tie you may want to make it a little longer) Cut the elastic at an angle so it won’t fray!

2. Wrap the elastic around your fingers and tie a knot! Leave about 1/4 an inch on the ends. Avoid pulling on the edges.

3. For sealing the edges, you have two choices depending on the amount of elastic on the ends.

– If you only have a little, then dab the ends in some glue and let dry!

– If you have 1/4 of an inch or a little more, then with a far away lighter hold the ends of the elastic near the flame. NOT in the flame, the elastic CAN catch on fire! But just close enough so that the ends seal.

( The lighter method makes the ties last a little longer, but be careful!)

4. Style! Hair tie or bracelet these ties will finish off any PINK outfit perfectly!

(P.S.) You can also make headbands! Just make the elastic about 1 inch longer than around your head!

Let the #VSFashionShow Countdown Begin!

2010 Fashion Show

The Victoria Secret Fashion Show is a prime time television event like no other. Originally the fashion shows occurred around Valentines day as a marketing technique in the 1990’s, and were not aired on national television. The first was in 1995 at the iconic Plaza hotel in NYC. In the later 1990’s and early 2000’s the fashion shows moved to the web. In 2001, the Victoria Secret Fashion Show moved to around the Christmas Holiday season and made its debut airing on ABC. Every year after that, the fashion show has aired on CBS except in 2004 where instead of a traditional annual fashion show, the models did an “Angels Across America Tour”, where they visited many hot locations across the USA promoting Victoria Secret.

2012 Angels

The fashion show has been held in a number of hit locations including Miami, Los Angeles and of course New York City. Every year the show becomes bigger, better and more lavish than the year before though various celebrities, set design, theme, costume and music. Musical acts include Spice Girls, Kanye West, Destiny’s Child and Mary J Blige. A group of 20 to 40 of the hottest models every year are hand picked to model, and become the world renown Victoria Secret Angels.

In 2006 Victoria Secret PINK made its debut into the show!

Doutzen Kroes 2006

Something to watch for is the Fantasy Bra. Every year a different high end jewelry designer is picked to bedazzle and glorify a bra and one of the top Angels is picked to wear. Angels who have worn the Fantasy Bras include Tyra Banks, Heidi Klum and Adriana Lima. The bra is used as a centerpiece for the event. These bras are for sale, as the ultimate gift, but to date only one has sold due to their extreme price tag.

Floral Fantasy Bra

This year, the Victoria Secret Fashion Show will be held in New York City featuring artist Rihanna, Justin Bieber and Bruno Mars. Make sure you watch out for this year’s Fantasy Bra, the Floral Fantasy Bra being worn by Alessandra Ambrosio being valued at $2,500,000. The Victoria Secret Fashion Show airs on CBS on December 4th at 10pm! Visit Victoriasecret.com/fashionshow and see how to train like an Angel, how to earn your wings and see exclusive sneak peek footage!
